Root Woman is a beaded doll in progress - there is still some embroidery to do on her backside. She began as a contemplation of First Woman - the one who preceeded the Eve and Lilith myths. The doll is exactly the size shown below.
Primitive Mermaid is another early doll. I especially love her embroidery thread and beaded fringe hairstyle. 1999.
Grandmother is a wedge doll whose face and hands were made by my dear son several years ago, out of polymer clay. She is about 6 inches tall. The camera's flash makes her owl hard to see - it is a bead made of bone. 2008.
