This is one of my earliest dolls - a true primitive folk art creation, with a polymer clay face. I call her Little Mother Singing, and she was made in the mid 1990's. She is around 9 inches tall.
An experiment using acrylic paints in a watercolor wash technique, combined with quilting, embroidery and bead embellishment led to Heal a Broken Heart; she is a wedge doll. She is almost 8 inches tall and was created in the summer of 2000.
Continuing on that note, I made an angel doll for the baby of a neighbor later that summer.
While we waited to move into our new house in early 2000, all but one box of my art goodies was packed up tight. I started to experiment with muslin dolls and covered them with beaded dresses - and in this case fins. I love this mermaid - she is a consumate primitive folk art doll.
The Guardian Angel of Ambiguous is 7 inches tall. It was created in 2005, sports the Mona Lisa's face, (thanks Leonardo!) and needs no more explanation!
The Maiden doll is a remembrance of the vitality of youth. She was made in 2005 and is a 12 inches tall. She is decorated with jewelry given to me by friends that I no longer wear.
